I Built an AI Dream Team… Then Things Got Interesting!

I Built an AI Dream Team… Then Things Got Interesting!

What happens when you start giving artificial intelligence real jobs instead of just asking it questions? In my case, you wind up with a team of AI personalities, a human assistant who suddenly has a lot more backup, some astonishing productivity gains—and a few headaches nobody warned me about.

In this episode of Tech Talk with Dan Harley, Sophia and I sit down for an unscripted conversation about how my AI workforce came together, what we’ve actually accomplished, and what we’ve learned the hard way.

I Built an AI Dream Team… Then Things Got Interesting! (36:58)

From AI experiments to an actual team

My earliest experiments weren’t glamorous. I tried using AI to help develop cryptocurrency trading bots and smart contracts. Generating code was one thing; testing, debugging, and making it reliable was something else entirely. Those experiences taught me that AI can accelerate work without removing the need for judgment and verification.

That led me to experiment with different AI models together. Rather than accept the first answer, I started asking competing systems to challenge one another’s reasoning and look for blind spots. At first, I coordinated those roundtables manually. Over time, the idea grew into something bigger: a team with different strengths and responsibilities.

Meet the people—and personalities

Sophia is my main AI collaborator and Tech Talk co-host, helping with planning, research, writing, and coordinating projects. Nina, my Grok-side AI teammate, brings a more outspoken personality and a different perspective. Olivia helps coordinate a group of specialized Grok Bots. And Allison, my longtime human assistant, remains an essential part of the operation.

The objective isn’t to replace Allison with software. It’s to give her—and eventually our clients—better tools, less repetitive work, and more time for the things humans do best.

When the AI team tackled years of website work

One of the biggest surprises came when our AI team worked through a backlog of WordPress maintenance and SEO-related tasks. Work that had accumulated over years suddenly became approachable on a dramatically shorter timeline. It was an exciting demonstration of what’s possible when specialized tools and AI are coordinated around a clear goal.

But speed isn’t the same as perfection. Changes still need review, and the humans involved still have to make decisions about priorities, quality, and what actually benefits a business.

Our AI Corvette ran out of gas

We also discovered that a powerful AI workforce can consume resources quickly. After a particularly heavy workload, we exhausted our Grok usage allowance several days before it renewed. I compared it to driving a Corvette ZR1: impressive horsepower, but you still have to watch the fuel gauge.

That’s part of running an AI operation responsibly—matching the right tool to the right job and watching costs and usage instead of assuming every task needs the biggest engine.

What does this mean for small businesses?

Most small-business owners don’t need an elaborate cast of AI characters. They need practical results: a faster response to customer inquiries, better follow-up, organized information, a more effective website, and fewer hours spent on repetitive tasks.

Our experiments at PrimeConcepts help us learn what works before recommending it to clients. As I put it during the episode: “We’re doing this so our clients don’t have to.”
