Getting in touch with the old friends, Dale Perryman, and Keith Anthony Taylor, to do an open mic podcast with me. It has been a while since we can be on air together, so now we are going to have one podcast together.Dale and I were able to make the episode 106 where we were able to talk about how news is made. We discussed how different channels deliver different ways of giving their audience the story.
In this podcast, we are talking about things about technology. How my friend, Keith, was able to get the very last equipment in Europe and it was the last one, which is the reel to reel. He said it is cumbersome to lift. The tape of that reel to reel contains the original record of the son of Martine Luther King who is doing his speech on Keith’s local church.
He finds it very valuable because of the exact thing it contains. However, the problem is that he cannot play it because it was already damaged. The reason behind it is because the magnetic material that would make the film play is already stripped off. He decided that he will send it to a specialist who can help him fix the reel to reel.
There is actually a way on how you can fix it but through a particular process of putting it inside an oven. He was suggested to place it in a conventional oven but was afraid because it might be cooked after some time.

Being able to talk to my old friends about the exciting thing that Keith has behind him, It was the last handmade reel to reel thing he found in Europe. Even though it still needs to be repaired, he is finding a way so that he can still salvage the film recorded on the tape.
